8th Grade - Katie Withers

log

Dear Eighth Grade Students and Guardians,

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! My name is Ms. Withers and I will be the 8th grade teacher this year at Banta School! I hope you all had a great summer and I look forward to getting to know you all.

This will be my 7th year teaching and my 1st year teaching 8th grade. I obtained my bachelor's degree from Humphreys college, and my Masters, teaching credential, and math authorization from the Teachers College of San Joaquin County. I am currently working on my doctorate at Grand Canyon University and my administrative credential. I grew up in a small agriculture town and still live there today! Since Kindergarten, I have wanted to be a teacher and now I am living my dream! I cannot wait to share my love of learning with you!

I do not believe students learn from reading a textbook.  Learning needs to be engaging, challenging, fun, hands on, and individualized.  Not all students learn the same and I will do my best to reach each of you.  I create most of my lessons by using our curriculum mixed with a variety of sources.  Throughout the year, I will do my best to make our classroom a fun, positive, and inviting place.  I am going to challenge you and push you out of your comfort zone, but I also will be by your side guiding and helping along the way.  Everyone is good at something, but no one is good at everything!

I look forward to seeing your child on August 8th on the first day of school!

Thank you in advance for your support and I look forward to meeting you and getting to know your child.  In the meantime, please feel free to contact me for any questions, comments or concerns at [email protected] or (209) 229-4650. Let’s make this a great school year!
                                         Sincerely,
                                         Ms. Withers
